TODAY'S 12.16.2014 Shrek Rehearsal Cast and Crew Cancelled

Shrek Jr rehearsal is cancelled this afternoon due to many in our called scenes today being out sick, myself (Ms. Kendrick) included!  The scenes that were called for today will be added into January rehearsals and will be updated on the blog to reflect these and all changes.

Thursday rehearsal will just be for  scene 5 (the Fionas) from 4pm to 5pm. This rehearsal has been shortened by 30 minutes.  There will be no Hallelujah rehearsal on Thursday.

Crew does not need to report this week. Stay healthy!

Wishing everyone the brightest of Chanukahs and warmest wishes for a Happy New Year!

MS Rehearsal Schedule & Scene Breakdown

The Full Middle School  Rehearsal Schedule is here! Please click under Shrek Calendar to download the PDF Schedule.

All dates will also be added to the Shrek Google Calendar which allows those who use Google Calendar to view by date or add to your calendar.

Please note that often as we get closer to show dates, the MS schedule is subject to change.  Slight modifications, additions, deletions, and/or changes in which characters attend and/or duration of any given rehearsal may be made due to weather, progression of rehearsals and the needs of the shows.

Changes or modifications in the schedule will be communicated at least one full week ahead of time.

Rehearsals are called by characters or by scenes. Please refer to the MS Scene breakdown to see in which scene numbers your character(s) appear.

The Hallelujah girls ensemble, the Duloc Performers, the Dreamgirls, and the Boy Band will be announced post the next all cast Tues rehearsal and before winter break.

Remember rehearsals begin at 4pm SHARP and that from  3:35- 4:00, you should eat your snack, check in with any tutorials/teachers/HW help, pack up your belongings,  use the restroom, and dress out for rehearsal.

When you are not working on your scenes/songs/dances in rehearsals, you are expected to work on HW.

Always bring the following to your rehearsals:

  • your script
  • water bottle
  • highlighter
  • pencil
  • notepad/computer for taking notes
  • comfortable rehearsal clothes
  • phone (to ensure your carpool ride knows what time pick up is and to record harmonies)
  • a FABULOUS attitude :)

See you all Tuesday!

UPDATE ON MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHEDULE:
The  full schedule is almost ready. We have been working hard on it to maximize our time together and minimize down time by creating a very specific scene/character rehearsal/blocking schedule- no easy feat when trying to organize 33 characters,  65+ individual schedules.

The full schedule WILL indeed be released in the next few days.

Thank you all for your patience as we work hard to make sure the full MS schedule works for all
parties involved and with so many events to work around in and out of school!

Please remember  that all of the SUNDAY rehearsals were released in the MS audition info packet. Those dates are all still the same, there are no changes to any Sundays.

THERE ARE NO SUNDAY REHEARSALS ON MLK or PRESIDENTS DAY WEEKENDS.

SHREK JR. MIDDLE SCHOOL CAST ANNOUNCED!

A Big congratulations to all of our Middle School Shrek Jr. Performers!!!
After a week of the most professional, best auditions and callbacks yet from our middle school thespians in Davis' history, we are excited for what is sure to be the most spectacular amazing musical yet! The casting panel was so impressed across the board. Bravo!

The cast list is posted to the side of the post under important show information/links.

Casts will be divided and performances assigned in the coming weeks, once we have a chance to meet and rehearse as a cast and pair show casts up.

Other roles and ensembles will also be decided in the next few weeks. Every performer will have the opportunity to appear on stage in both casts. Please let Ms. Kendrick know if you do not wish to perform in a double cast.

The rehearsal schedule will be released Tuesday as non- schedule conflicts and schedule conflicts were taken into account during the audition process to ensure that actors are present with no conflicts for the rehearsals for which they are called and the parts in which they are cast.

It takes all performers and crew to make a show run, work, and shine. Everyone has his/her moment in the spotlight and we can't wait to see each of you shine!!!!

Remember, there is a full cast and crew read through Tuesday in the cafeteria from 3:30 until 4:45.

Tuesday Callback Information

WOW!!!! What an amazing start to our Shrek journey.

Thank you all for a wonderful three days of auditions and callbacks! Your professionalism, spirit, and teamwork has been exceptional. This is going to be a truly amazing and spectacular show.

Here is the callback schedule for Tuesday.

It is a continuation from those we did not get to see fully before finishing on Sunday and for those songs/scenes we did not to get hear or see.
We will be singing the songs noted and looking at various scenes in which each character appears.
Please be familiar with the songs and script. Make strong specific acting and character choices/voices.

Please note your  specific call times.

Please bring snacks, a water bottle,  your script, and your Homework on which you will have time to work.

Callbacks on Tuesday take place in the cafeteria and start promptly at 3:30. You will be dismissed from study hall at 3:20 in order to pack up, get a snack, have a bathroom break, and come to the cafeteria. Please enter the cafeteria quietly and wait for further instruction.

If you did not receive a callback for Tuesday, this means you did an excellent job of showing us all of your skills, talents and capabilities to their fullest extent in order for us to place you where you will shine best! A Tuesday callback is to clarify areas, songs, and performers where we have not seen all that we need to make decisions and still need to see more.

Thank you!

KP and Drew
